Although our countryside has been beautifully shaped and managed by humans for thousands of years, it sometimes pales in comparison to the beauty of a landscape shaped and coloured by the forces of nature. Uninhabited wild places offer us the chance to see the old world again in so many new and interesting ways. The same is true when we venture to take a closer look at everyday objects. With an unlimited number of colours and textures in an infinite number of shapes and living things, the natural world never ceases to delight and surprise. No two snowflakes are the same; no two fingerprints are the same etc. So why shouldn't we marvel at the unique beauty of the physical world in the land and weather; the properties of water and the designs and patterns of organic forms as well as naturally occuring non-living things?
